The South African Evangelistic Mission

GOD SEES! – When we switch on the news we are bombarded with information that startles us and we shake our head and ask, “has the world gone mad?”. Underneath that question lies another nagging question (even though it remains unspoken), “Don’t God see what is going on down here?”. The answer to that question is simple, God sees!

In Genesis 16:1-6 Sarai encourages Abram to have a child with her Egyptian maid and then when Hagar falls pregnant she begins to look at Sarai with contempt. Sarai complains to Abram about Hagar and Abram turns the responsibility over Hagar to Sarai. Sarai treated Hagar harshly and humiliated her and when Hagar could not take it anymore she ran away from as far as she could from Sarai.

The angel of the Lord met Hagar and posed this question to her, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where did you come from and where are you going?” And she said, “I am running away from my mistress Sarai.” The angel then promises her that she will bear a son and call his name Ishmael (God hears) and also promises her that Ishmael will be a great nation.

Hagar (an Egyptian maid), identifies El Roi – The God who sees! Amidst her pain, injustice and turmoil Hagar came in contact with El Roi. 13 Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?” 14 Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi (Well of the Living One Who Sees Me); it is between Kadesh and Bered. Genesis 16:13-14

Precious SAEM Partner, may you find El Roi today. He is the God who sees and feel our pain and our heartaches. When our people in South Africa cried out to the Lord, God heard us and spoke to you to help us and you did. We are at a loss of  words to express our thanks and deepest gratitude. Tyrone Paul

SAEM has been our home for most of my life, surrendering my life to Jesus at the tender age of 14. Immediately after completing school, I joined Calvary Bible Institute and then pastored New Life Church in Richards Bay for 12 years. It is there where I met the love of my life, Rosanne and we married in July of 1996 and God blessed us with a godly son, Tafton Paul. I then relocated to Durban in April of 2004 and took on a new assignment at the SAEM Head Office as Secretary General and my role was to oversee all of the administrative functions of the ministry. In 2011, (by the grace of the Lord) the mantle of our Father, Dad Haag was passed onto me to lead SAEM. It has been my greatest privilege and honour to serve in one of the greatest kingdom ministry on the planet. SAEM has a family like no other and I say this with all the humility in my heart. God is taking us somewhere and we are simply following His voice in total obedience. We ask for your continued prayers for us and the ministry here in Africa. If we can help you to fulfill your kingdom calling, please call on us. Rick Clendenen once told me, ” if you find a turtle on a fence post, you know he did not get there by himself”. I sure did not get here by myself… so many have connected and continue to contribute to the success of this ministry, 67 years since it’s inception. To our God be ALL glory, and honour and power and praise, forever. We love you. Tyrone Paul
